The T’EYES 7” Universal CCL3 is a brilliant product with just a few major faults, but they are fundamental, serious, and potentially deal-breakers.
The complete absence of even the most rudimentary installation instructions, or on-line user-manual, will seriously hamper the efforts of the unwary purchaser, and prevent them from realising the full potential of the product, without the on-line help of other frustrated users sharing the fruits of their own miserable experience.
The lame excuse of such fast-paced development making any publication soon outdated is utter hogwash. Any developer worth their salt knows that 90% of any system will remain exactly the same across an upgrade, and a basic description of a field and its purpose should not be beyond the powers of the most amateur team, and their translators. (Especially with an international group of users to call on for suggested notes and guidance). Even flyover tips in the software would be useful, especially for some of the less obvious settings whose purpose is esoteric, if not downright unintelligible.
I like to use Spotify but ‘Music Player’ keeps barging back in as my default app no matter what I do in settings. The official response is ‘It can’t be helped’.
I have reported a bug on the 7” version where the subwoofer settings have been pushed off-screen. The headings: Subwoofer Volume, LPF and HPF are all visible but their controls have slipped down making the HPF slider-control disappear off the bottom of the screen. The official response is to deny that there are three settings (even though the three field titles are clearly present, just the actual HPF control is now missing) and to add that the HPF cannot be set on the CC3L…..!
I don’t blame the sales force – they are doing their best, but the absence of any actual Technical Support, when added to the lack of Installation Guide or User Manual, makes it hard to recommend this product, which is a shame.
